14:1	In the one hundred seventy-second year King Demetrius assembled his forces and marched into Media to obtain help, so that he could make war against Trypho. 14:2	When King Arsaces of Persia and Media heard that Demetrius had invaded his territory, he sent one of his generals to take him alive. 14:3	The general went and defeated the army of Demetrius, and seized him and took him to Arsaces, who put him under guard. 14:4	The land had rest all the days of Simon. He sought the good of his nation; his rule was pleasing to them, as was the honor shown him, all his days. 14:5	To crown all his honors he took Joppa for a harbor, and opened a way to the isles of the sea.				Sein Ruhm wuchs, als er den Hafen von Jafo gewann; so öffnete er einen Weg zu den Inseln. 14:6	He extended the borders of his nation, and gained full control of the country.				Er erweiterte das Gebiet seines Volkes und gewann die Herrschaft über das ganze Land. 14:7	He gathered a host of captives; he ruled over Gazara and Beth-zur and the citadel, and he removed its uncleanness from it; and there was none to oppose him.				Viele Verbannte führte er wieder zurück. Er eroberte Geser, Bet-Zur und die Burg und vernichtete darin alles, was unrein war. Niemand widersetzte sich ihm. 14:8	They tilled their land in peace; the ground gave its increase, and the trees of the plains their fruit.				Sie bebauten in Frieden ihr Land; der Boden gab seinen Ertrag, die Bäume auf dem Feld ihre Frucht.		spazzò via da essa le immondezze, e nessuno gli si oppose. In pace si diedero a coltivare la loro terra; il suolo dava i suoi prodotti e gli alberi della campagna i loro frutti.								Anthu ankalima minda yao mwamtendere. Mindayo inkabereka bwino, ndipo mitengo inkabala zipatso zake.		و كانوا يفلحون ارضهم بسلام والارض تعطي اتاءها واشجار الحقول اثمارها
14:9	Old men sat in the streets; they all talked together of good things, and the youths put on splendid military attire.				Auf den Plätzen saßen die Alten; alle sprachen über ihr Glück. Die jungen Männer gingen im Schmuck ihrer Waffen umher.		I vecchi sedevano nelle piazze, tutti s'interessavano al bene i giovani indossavano splendide vesti e armature di guerra. 14:10	He supplied the towns with food, and furnished them with the means of defense, until his renown spread to the ends of the earth.				Er versorgte die Städte mit Nahrung und baute sie zu Festungen aus. Sein Name wurde berühmt bis an das Ende der Welt.		Alle città fornì vettovaglie, e le munì con mezzi di difesa; così divenne celebre il suo nome e la sua gloria fino all'estremità della terra. 14:11	He established peace in the land, and Israel rejoiced with great joy.				Er brachte dem Land den Frieden, in Israel herrschte Jubel und Freude.		Fece regnare sul paese la pace e Israele gioì di grande letizia.								Adakhazikitsa mtendere m'dziko lake, ndipo Aisraele ankakondwa kosaneneka.		و قرر السلم في ارضه فلبث اسرائيل في فرح عظيم
14:12	All the people sat under their own vines and fig trees, and there was none to make them afraid.				Jeder saß unter seinem Weinstock und seinem Feigenbaum und niemand schreckte sie auf.		Ognuno sedeva sotto la sua vite e sotto il suo fico e nessuno incuteva loro timore.								Aliyense ankakhala pansi pa mtengo wake wa mpesa ndi wa mkuyu, panalibe woŵaopsa.		و جلس كل واحد تحت كرمته وتينته ولم يكن من يذعرهم
14:13	No one was left in the land to fight them, and the kings were crushed in those days.				Der Feind verschwand aus dem Land; in jenen Tagen wurden die Könige besiegt.		Scomparve dal paese chi li avversava e i re andarono in rovina in quei giorni. 14:14	He gave help to all the humble among his people; he sought out the law, and did away with all the renegades and outlaws.				Er stärkte alle Schwachen im Land und setzte sich ein für das Gesetz. Alle Verräter und Sünder aber rottete er aus.		Confortò tutti i derelitti nel suo popolo; ricercò la legge ed eliminò ogni iniquo e maligno. 14:15	He made the sanctuary glorious, and added to the vessels of the sanctuary.				Das Heiligtum baute er prachtvoll aus, viele Geräte für den Tempel schaffte er an. 14:16	It was heard in Rome, and as far away as Sparta, that Jonathan had died, and they were deeply grieved. 14:18	they wrote to him on bronze tablets to renew with him the friendship and alliance that they had established with his brothers Judas and Jonathan.				schrieben sie ihm auf Bronzetafeln einen Brief und boten ihm an, das Freundschaftsbündnis mit ihm zu erneuern, das sie mit seinen Brüdern Judas und Jonatan geschlossen hatten.		scrissero a lui su tavolette di bronzo per rinnovare con lui l'amicizia e l'alleanza che avevano concluso con Giuda e Giònata suoi fratelli. 14:19	And these were read before the assembly in Jerusalem.				Diese Botschaft wurde vor der Volksversammlung in Jerusalem verlesen.		I messaggi furono letti davanti all'adunanza in Gerusalemme.								Adaŵerenga makalatawo pa msonkhano ku Yerusalemu.		فقرئت الالواح بمشهد الجماعة في اورشليم وهذه صورة الكتب التي انفذها الاسبرطيون
14:20	This is a copy of the letter that the Spartans sent: The rulers and the city of the Spartans to the high priest Simon and to the elders and the priests and the rest of the Jewish people, our brothers, greetings.				Hier ist eine Abschrift des Briefes, den die Spartaner schickten: Die Regierung und die Stadt der Spartaner grüßen den Hohenpriester Simeon, die Ältesten, die Priester und das ganze übrige jüdische Volk, ihre Brüder. 14:21	The envoys who were sent to our people have told us about your glory and honor, and we rejoiced at their coming.				Die Gesandten, die ihr zu unserem Volk geschickt habt, haben uns von eurem Ruhm und eurem Ansehen berichtet und wir haben uns über ihren Besuch sehr gefreut.		I messaggeri inviati al nostro popolo ci hanno riferito intorno alla vostra gloria e al vostro onore e noi ci siamo rallegrati per il loro arrivo. 14:22	We have recorded what they said in our public decrees, as follows, Numenius son of Antiochus and Antipater son of Jason, envoys of the Jews, have come to us to renew their friendship with us.				Was sie vor dem Rat des Volkes gesagt haben, haben wir, wie folgt, schriftlich festgehalten: Numenius, der Sohn des Antiochus, und Antipater, der Sohn Jasons, sind als Gesandte der Juden zu uns gekommen, um die Freundschaft mit uns zu erneuern.		Abbiamo registrato le loro dichiarazioni negli atti pubblici, in questi termini: Numenio, figlio di Antioco, e Antìpatro, figlio di Giasone, messaggeri dei Giudei, sono giunti presso di noi per rinnovare l'amicizia con noi. 14:23	It has pleased our people to receive these men with honor and to put a copy of their words in the public archives, so that the people of the Spartans may have a record of them. And they have sent a copy of this to the high priest Simon.'				Das Volk hat beschlossen, ihnen einen glänzenden Empfang zu bereiten und die Niederschrift ihrer Rede im Staatsarchiv zu hinterlegen, damit das Volk von Sparta sie nicht vergisst. - Eine Abschrift davon schickten sie an den Hohenpriester Simeon.		E' piaciuto al popolo di ricevere questi uomini con ogni onore e di inserire il testo del loro discorso nei registri a disposizione del pubblico, perché il popolo degli Spartani ne mantenga il ricordo». 14:24	After this Simon sent Numenius to Rome with a large gold shield weighing one thousand minas, to confirm the alliance with the Romans.				Danach sandte Simeon den Numenius mit einem großen goldenen Schild, der tausend Minen wog, nach Rom, um das Bündnis mit den Römern zu bekräftigen.		Successivamente Simone mandò a Roma Numenio con un grande scudo d'oro, del peso di mille mine, per concludere l'alleanza con loro. 14:25	When the people heard these things they said, How shall we thank Simon and his sons?				Als man im Volk davon erfuhr, sagte man: Wie können wir Simeon und seinen Söhnen danken?		Quando il popolo seppe queste cose, disse: «Quale contraccambio daremo a Simone e ai suoi figli?								Ayuda atamva zimenezo, adayamba kufunsana kuti, “Kodi tiŵachitire chiyani Simoni ndi ana ake, kuti tiŵathokoze?		فلما سمع الشعب ذلك الكلام قالوا بماذا نكافئ سمعان وبنيه
14:26	For he and his brothers and the house of his father have stood firm; they have fought and repulsed Israel's enemies and established its freedom.				Denn er, seine Brüder und seine ganze Familie waren uns Halt und Stütze. Er hat den Kampf gegen Israels Feinde geführt und sie vertrieben und mit seinen Brüdern dem Volk die Freiheit errungen. Man fertigte Bronzetafeln an, die man auf dem Berg Zion an Säulen befestigte		Egli infatti e i suoi fratelli e la casa di suo padre sono stati saldi e hanno scacciato da sé con le armi i nemici d'Israele e hanno assicurato la libertà». Poi fecero un'iscrizione su tavole di bronzo, che furono poste su colonne sul monte Sion.								Pajatu iwoŵa ndi atetezi athu, iye uja pamodzi ndi abale ake ndi onse a pa banja la atate ake. 14:27	So they made a record on bronze tablets and put it on pillars on Mount Zion. 14:29	Since wars often occurred in the country, Simon son of Mattathias, a priest of the sons of Joarib, and his brothers, exposed themselves to danger and resisted the enemies of their nation, in order that their sanctuary and the law might be preserved; and				Als wiederholt im Land Krieg ausbrach, scheuten Simeon, der Sohn des Mattatias, aus der Familie Jojaribs, und seine Brüder keine Gefahr. Sie stellten sich den Feinden ihres Volkes entgegen, um ihr Heiligtum und das Gesetz zu erhalten, und verschafften ihrem Volk großen Ruhm. Motero adatengera mtundu wathu ulemu waukulu.		و ان سمعان بن متتيا من بني ياريب واخوته قد القوا بانفسهم في المخاطر وناهضوا اعداء امتهم صيانة لاقداسهم والشريعة واولوا امتهم مجدا كبيرا
14:30	Jonathan rallied the nation, became their high priest, and was gathered to his people.				Jonatan führte sein Volk zusammen; er wurde ihr Hoherpriester, bis er mit seinen Vätern vereint wurde.		Giònata riunì la sua nazione e ne divenne il sommo sacerdote, poi andò a raggiungere i suoi antenati.								Yonatani adalunzanitsa anthu a fuko lake, ndipo adakhala mkulu wao wa ansembe. Pambuyo pake adamwalira.		و ان يوناتان جمع شمل امته وتقلد فيهم الكهنوت الاعظم ثم انضم الى قومه
14:31	When their enemies decided to invade their country and lay hands on their sanctuary,				Als darauf ihre Feinde den Plan fassten, in das Land einzufallen, um es zu vernichten und ihr Heiligtum anzutasten,		I loro nemici vollero invadere il loro paese e stendere la mano contro il santuario.								Nthaŵi ina adani adaaganiza zothira nkhondo dziko lake kuti aliwononge ndi kulanda Nyumba ya Mulungu.		فهم اعداؤهم بالغارة على ارضهم ليدمروا بلادهم ويلقوا ايديهم على اقداسهم
14:32	then Simon rose up and fought for his nation. He spent great sums of his own money; he armed the soldiers of his nation and paid them wages.				erhob sich Simeon und kämpfte für sein Volk. Aus eigenen Mitteln brachte er viel Geld auf und versorgte die Krieger seines Volkes mit Waffen und Verpflegung. 14:33	He fortified the towns of Judea, and Beth-zur on the borders of Judea, where formerly the arms of the enemy had been stored, and he placed there a garrison of Jews.				Er ließ die Städte Judäas befestigen, besonders Bet-Zur, das an der Grenze von Judäa liegt; er legte eine jüdische Besatzung dorthin, wo zuvor ein Waffenlager der Feinde gewesen war.
