7:1	The next day Holofernes ordered his whole army, and all the allies who had joined him, to break camp and move against Bethulia, and to seize the passes up into the hill country and make war on the Israelites.	Am folgenden Tag befahl Holofernes seinem ganzen Heer und allen seinen Hilfsvölkern, gegen Betulia vorzurücken, die Gebirgspässe zu besetzen und den Kampf gegen die Israeliten zu eröffnen.	Il giorno dopo, Oloferne diede ordine a tutto l'esercito e a tutta la moltitudine di coloro che erano venuti come suoi alleati, di iniziare l'azione contro Betulia, occupando le vie d'accesso alla montagna e attaccando battaglia contro gli Israeliti.	و في اليوم الثاني امر اليفانا جميع عسكره ان يزحفوا على بيت فلوى
7:2	So all their warriors marched off that day; their fighting forces numbered one hundred seventy thousand infantry and twelve thousand cavalry, not counting the baggage and the foot soldiers handling it, a very great multitude.	So begann an jenem Tag der Aufbruch des ganzen Heeres. Die einsatzfähige Streitmacht zählte zusammen hundertsiebzigtausend Mann Fußtruppen und zwölftausend Berittene, nicht eingerechnet den Tross und die dazugehörigen Mannschaften; es war eine gewaltige Menge.	In quel giorno effettivamente ogni uomo valido fra loro si pose in marcia. Il loro esercito si componeva di centosettantamila fanti e dodicimila cavalieri, senza contare gli addetti ai servizi e molti altri uomini che erano a piedi con loro, in numero ingente.	و كان رجالة الحرب مئة وعشرين الفا والفرسان اثنين وعشرين الفا ما خلا الرجال المجلوين وجميع الفتيان الذين استصحبهم من الاقاليم والمدن
7:3	They encamped in the valley near Bethulia, beside the spring, and they spread out in breadth over Dothan as far as Balbaim and in length from Bethulia to Cyamon, which faces Esdraelon.	Sie schlugen in der Ebene bei Betulia an der Quelle ihr Lager auf und besetzten ein Gebiet, das sich in der Breite von Dotan bis Jibleam und in der Länge von Betulia bis Kyamon gegenüber Jesreel erstreckte.	Essi si accamparono nella valle vicina a Betulia oltre la sorgente, allargandosi dalla zona sopra Dotain fino a Belbaim ed estendendosi da Betulia fino a Kiamon, che è di fronte a Esdrelon.	فتاهب جميعهم لمقاتلة بني اسرائيل وجاءوا من جانب الجبل الى القمة التي تنظر الى دوتان من الموضع الذي يقال له بلما الى قليمون التي قبالة يزرعيل
7:4	When the Israelites saw their vast numbers, they were greatly terrified and said to one another, They will now strip clean the whole land; neither the high mountains nor the valleys nor the hills will bear their weight.	Als die Israeliten ihre große Zahl sahen, waren sie tief bestürzt, und einer sagte zum andern: Diese Leute werden das ganze Land auffressen; weder die hohen Berge noch die Täler und Hügel werden ihre Last tragen können.	Gli Israeliti, quando videro la loro moltitudine, rimasero molto costernati e si dicevano l'un l'altro: «Ora costoro inghiottiranno tutta la terra, né i monti più alti, né le valli profonde, né i colli potranno resistere al loro peso».	فلما راى بنو اسرائيل كثرتهم خروا على الارض وحثوا الرماد على رؤوسهم وصلوا بقلب واحد الى اله اسرائيل ليظهر رحمته على شعبه
7:5	Yet they all seized their weapons, and when they had kindled fires on their towers, they remained on guard all that night.	Dennoch griffen alle zu den Waffen; sie zündeten auf ihren Stadttürmen Feuer an und hielten die ganze Nacht hindurch Wache.	Ognuno prese la sua armatura e, accesi i fuochi sulle torri, stettero in guardia tutta quella notte.	ثم اخذ كل رجل سلاحه واقاموا في الاماكن المفضية الى المضيق بين الجبال ولم يزالوا حارسين كل النهار والليل
7:6	On the second day Holofernes led out all his cavalry in full view of the Israelites in Bethulia.	Am nächsten Tag rückte Holofernes mit seiner ganzen Reiterei an, vor den Augen der Israeliten in Betulia.	Il giorno seguente Oloferne fece uscire tutta la cavalleria contro il fronte degli Israeliti che erano in Betulia,	و لما كان اليفانا يطوف في الارض وجد العين التي كانت تجري الى داخل المدينة من ناحية الجنوب لها قناة خارج المدينة فامر ان يقطعوا القناة
7:7	He reconnoitered the approaches to their town, and visited the springs that supplied their water; he seized them and set guards of soldiers over them, and then returned to his army.	Er ließ die Pässe erkunden, die zu ihrer Stadt hinaufführten, spürte ihre Wasserquellen auf und nahm sie in Besitz. Er stellte dort bewaffnete Posten auf und kehrte zu seinem Heer zurück.	osservò le vie di accesso alla loro città, ispezionò le sorgenti d'acqua e le occupò e, dopo avervi posto attorno guarnigioni di uomini armati, fece ritorno tra la sua gente.	و كانت عيون اخر على قرب من السور كانوا يخرجون فيستقون منها خفية لكي يكسروا حدة عطشهم وان كانوا لا يرتوون
7:8	Then all the chieftains of the Edomites and all the leaders of the Moabites and the commanders of the coastland came to him and said,	Da kamen zu ihm alle Heerführer der Edomiter, alle Hauptleute der Moabiter und die Befehlshaber der Küstengebiete. Sie sagten:	Allora gli si avvicinarono tutti gli Idumei e tutti i capi del popolo di Moab e gli strateghi della costa e gli dissero:	فتقدم بنو عمون ومواب الى اليفانا وقالوا له ان بني اسرائيل لا يتكلون على الرمح والسهم ولكن الجبال تزرهم والتلال التي بين الهوى تحصنهم
7:9	Listen to what we have to say, my lord, and your army will suffer no losses.	Möge doch unser Gebieter einen Rat anhören, damit deinem Heer kein Schaden entsteht.	«Voglia ascoltare il signor nostro una parola, perché siano evitati inconvenienti nel tuo esercito.	فالان حتى تظفر بهم بلا قتال اقم ارصادا على الينابيع لئلا يستقوا منها ماء فتقتلهم بغير سيف او يلجئهم ما يصيرون اليه من الضنك ان يسلموا مدينتهم التي يعدونها منيعة من اجل انها على الجبال
7:10	This people, the Israelites, do not rely on their spears but on the height of the mountains where they live, for it is not easy to reach the tops of their mountains.	Dieses Volk der Israeliten vertraut nämlich weniger auf seine Speere als vielmehr auf die Höhe der Berge, die es bewohnt; denn es ist gar nicht so leicht, zu den Gipfeln ihrer Berge vorzudringen.	Questo popolo non si affida alle sue lance, ma all'altezza dei monti, sui quali essi si sono appostati, e certo non è facile arrivare sulle creste dei loro monti.	فاعجب اليفانا وسائر عبيده بهذا الكلام فجعل ارصادا على العيون من اصحاب المئة على كل عين من جميع الجهات
7:11	Therefore, my lord, do not fight against them in regular formation, and not a man of your army will fall.	Darum, Gebieter, tritt gegen sie nicht in einer geordneten Feldschlacht an; dann wird kein einziger Mann von deinen Leuten fallen.	Quindi, signore, non attaccare costoro come si usa nella battaglia campale e non cadrà un sol uomo del tuo esercito.	فاقاموا على هذه المحافظة عشرين يوما حتى جفت مياه ابار بيت فلوى وحياضها باسرها حتى لم يكن في داخل المدينة ما يرويهم يوما واحدا لان الماء كان يعطى للشعب كل يوم بمقدار
7:12	Remain in your camp, and keep all the men in your forces with you; let your servants take possession of the spring of water that flows from the foot of the mountain,	Bleib in deinem Lager und spar jeden Mann deines Heeres! Es genügt, wenn deine Knechte die Wasserquelle in ihren Besitz bringen, die am Fuß des Berges entspringt.	Rimani fermo nel tuo accampamento avendo buona cura di ogni uomo del tuo esercito: intanto i tuoi gregari vadano ad occupare la sorgente dell'acqua che sgorga alla radice del monte,	حينئذ اجتمع على عزيا جميع الرجال والنساء والشبان والاطفال وكلهم بصوت واحد
7:13	for this is where all the people of Bethulia get their water. So thirst will destroy them, and they will surrender their town. Meanwhile, we and our people will go up to the tops of the nearby mountains and camp there to keep watch to see that no one gets	Denn dort holen die Bewohner Betulias ihr Wasser. Dann wird der Durst sie umbringen und sie müssen ihre Stadt ausliefern. Wir aber wollen mit unseren Leuten auf die benachbarten Berggipfel steigen und dort Wache stehen, damit niemand die Stadt verlassen kann.	perché di là attingono tutti gli abitanti di Betulia; vedrai che la sete li farà morire e verranno alla resa della loro città. Noi e la nostra gente saliremo sulle vicine alture dei monti e ci apposteremo su di esse e staremo a guardia per non lasciare uscire dalla città alcun uomo.	و قالوا يحكم الله بيننا وبينك فانك قد جنيت علينا شرورا اذ ابيت ان تخاطب الاشوريين بالمسالمة ولذلك باعنا الله الى ايديهم
7:14	They and their wives and children will waste away with famine, and before the sword reaches them they will be strewn about in the streets where they live.	Dann werden sie mit ihren Frauen und Kindern vor Hunger verschmachten, und bevor noch das Schwert über sie kommt, werden sie hingestreckt auf den Gassen vor ihren Häusern liegen.	Così cadranno sfiniti dalla fame essi, le loro donne, i loro figli e, prima che la spada arrivi su di loro, saranno stesi sulle piazze fra le loro case.	و الان فانه ليس لنا من نصير ولكنا نصرع امام عيونهم من قبل العطش والدمار العظيم
7:15	Thus you will pay them back with evil, because they rebelled and did not receive you peaceably.	So wirst du sie schwer dafür büßen lassen, dass sie dir Widerstand geleistet haben und dir nicht mit der Bitte um Frieden entgegengekommen sind.	Avrai così reso loro un terribile contraccambio perché si sono ribellati e non hanno voluto venire incontro a te con intenzioni pacifiche».	فالان ادعوا جميع من في المدينة ولنستسلم باجمعنا الى اصحاب اليفانا من تلقاء انفسنا
7:16	These words pleased Holofernes and all his attendants, and he gave orders to do as they had said.	Diese Worte gefielen dem Holofernes und all seinen Offizieren und er befahl, den Rat zu befolgen.	Piacque questo discorso ad Oloferne e a tutti i suoi ministri e diede ordine che si facesse come avevano proposto.	فخير لنا ان نبارك الرب ونحن احياء في الجلاء من ان نموت ونكون عارا عند جميع البشر بعد ان نكون عاينا نساءنا واطفالنا يموتون امامنا
7:17	So the army of the Ammonites moved forward, together with five thousand Assyrians, and they encamped in the valley and seized the water supply and the springs of the Israelites.	Darauf machten sich eine Abteilung der Ammoniter und mit ihnen fünftausend Assyrer auf den Weg; sie schlugen in der Ebene ein Lager auf und besetzten die Brunnen und Quellen der Israeliten.	Si mosse quindi il reparto dei Moabiti e cinquemila Assiri con loro, si accamparono nella valle e occuparono gli acquedotti e le sorgenti d'acqua degli Israeliti.	و نستحلفكم اليوم بالسماء والارض وباله ابائنا الذي ينتقم منا بحسب خطايانا ان تسلموا المدينة الى ايدي جيش اليفانا فيقضى اجلنا سريعا بحد السيف ولا يتمادى في اوار العطش
7:18	And the Edomites and Ammonites went up and encamped in the hill country opposite Dothan; and they sent some of their men toward the south and the east, toward Egrebeh, which is near Chusi beside the Wadi Mochmur. The rest of the Assyrian army encamped in	Die Edomiter und die Ammoniter aber schlugen im Bergland gegenüber von Dotan ein Lager auf. Außerdem schickten sie Abteilungen nach Süden und Osten gegen die Stadt Egrebel, die in der Nähe von Chus am Bach Mochmur liegt. Das übrige Heer der Assyrer hatte sein Lager in der Ebene und bedeckte das ganze Land; ihre Zelte und ihr Tross bildeten ein riesiges Heerlager; es war eine gewaltige Menge.	A loro volta gli Idumei e gli Ammoniti, con dodicimila Assiri, salirono e si appostarono sulla montagna di fronte a Dotain. Spinsero anche contingenti dei loro a meridione e a oriente di fronte a Egrebel, che si trova vicino a Chus, situata sul torrente Mochmur. Il rimanente esercito degli Assiri restò accampato nella pianura ricoprendo tutta l'estensione del terreno. Le tende e gli equipaggiamenti costituivano una massa imponente, perché essi erano in realtà una turba immensa.	فلما قالوا هذا حدث بكاء وعويل عظيم في الجماعة كلها وصرخوا الى الله بصوت واحد ساعات كثيرة قائلين
7:19	The Israelites then cried out to the Lord their God, for their courage failed, because all their enemies had surrounded them, and there was no way of escape from them.	Die Israeliten aber schrien zum Herrn, ihrem Gott. Sie hatten allen Mut verloren, da sie ringsum von ihren Feinden eingeschlossen waren und es kein Entrinnen mehr gab.	Allora gli Israeliti alzarono suppliche al Signore loro Dio, con l'animo in preda all'abbattimento, perché da ogni parte li avevano circondati i nemici e non c'era modo di passare in mezzo a loro.	قد خطئنا نحن واباؤنا وصنعنا الظلم والاثم
7:20	The whole Assyrian army, their infantry, chariots, and cavalry, surrounded them for thirty-four days, until all the water containers of every inhabitant of Bethulia were empty;	Nachdem die Belagerung durch das ganze Heer der Assyrer mit ihrem Fußvolk, ihren Wagen und Reitern vierunddreißig Tage gedauert hatte, ging in sämtlichen Behältern der Einwohner von Betulia das Wasser zur Neige.	Il campo degli Assiri al completo, fanti, carri e cavalli, rimase fermo tutt'attorno per trentaquattro giorni e venne a mancare a tutti gli abitanti di Betulia ogni riserva d'acqua.	ارحمنا لانك رحيم او فانتقم عن اثامنا بان تعاقبنا انت ولا تسلم المعترفين بك الى شعب لا يعرفك
7:21	their cisterns were going dry, and on no day did they have enough water to drink, for their drinking water was rationed.	Auch die Zisternen wurden leer. Die Belagerten konnten sich an keinem einzigen Tag mehr satt trinken, weil sie nur ein bestimmtes Maß an Wasser zugeteilt bekamen.	Anche le cisterne erano vuote e non potevano più bere a sazietà un giorno solo, perché distribuivano da bere in quantità razionata.	لئلا يقال في الامم اين الههم
7:22	Their children were listless, and the women and young men fainted from thirst and were collapsing in the streets of the town and in the gateways; they no longer had any strength.	Ihre Kinder verschmachteten; die Frauen und jungen Männer wurden ohnmächtig vor Durst, sie fielen auf den Straßen der Stadt und in den Torwegen um, denn sie hatten keine Kraft mehr.	Incominciarono i bambini a cadere sfiniti, le donne e i ragazzi venivano meno per la sete e cadevano nelle piazze della città e nei passaggi delle porte e ormai non rimaneva più in loro alcuna energia.	ثم انهم كلوا من الصراخ وخاروا من البكاء فسكتوا
7:23	Then all the people, the young men, the women, and the children, gathered around Uzziah and the rulers of the town and cried out with a loud voice, and said before all the elders,	Da versammelte sich das ganze Volk, die jungen Männer, die Frauen und Kinder, bei Usija und den leitenden Männern der Stadt, erhoben ein lautes Geschrei und riefen den Ältesten zu:	Allora tutto il popolo si radunò presso Ozia e i capi della città, con giovani, donne e fanciulli, e alzarono grida e dissero davanti a tutti gli anziani:	فقام عزيا ودموعه سائلة وقال لهم كونوا طيبي القلوب يا اخوتي ولننتظر رحمة من لدن الرب هذه الخمسة الايام
7:24	Let God judge between you and us! You have done us a great injury in not making peace with the Assyrians.	Gott sei Richter zwischen uns und euch. Ihr habt ein schweres Unrecht an uns begangen, weil ihr mit den Assyrern nicht friedlich verhandeln wolltet.	«Sia giudice il Signore tra voi e noi, perché voi ci avete recato un grave danno rifiutando di proporre la pace agli Assiri.	فلعله يكف غضبه ويقيم مجدا لاسمه
7:25	For now we have no one to help us; God has sold us into their hands, to be strewn before them in thirst and exhaustion.	Jetzt gibt es für uns keine Rettung mehr; denn Gott hat uns an sie verkauft. Darum müssen wir verdursten und vor ihren Augen elend zugrunde gehen.	Ora non c'è più nessuno che ci possa aiutare, perché Dio ci ha venduti in balìa di costoro per essere abbattuti davanti a loro dalla sete e da terribili mali.	فاذا انقضت خمسة ايام ولم تاتنا معونة فعلنا ما تقولون
7:26	Now summon them and surrender the whole town as booty to the army of Holofernes and to all his forces.	Ruft sie also jetzt herbei und liefert die ganze Stadt den Soldaten des Holofernes und seinem Heer zur Plünderung aus!	Ormai chiamateli e consegnate la città intera per il saccheggio al popolo di Oloferne e a tutto il suo esercito.
7:27	For it would be better for us to be captured by them. We shall indeed become slaves, but our lives will be spared, and we shall not witness our little ones dying before our eyes, and our wives and children drawing their last breath.	Es ist besser für uns, ihnen als Beute in die Hände zu fallen. Wenn wir auch zu Sklaven gemacht werden, so bleiben wir doch wenigstens am Leben und brauchen nicht mit eigenen Augen den Tod unserer Säuglinge und das Dahinsterben unserer Frauen und Kinder mit anzusehen.	E' meglio per noi esser loro preda; diventeremo certo loro schiavi, ma potremo vivere e non vedremo con i nostri occhi la morte dei nostri bambini, né le donne e i nostri figli esalare l'ultimo respiro.
7:28	We call to witness against you heaven and earth and our God, the Lord of our ancestors, who punishes us for our sins and the sins of our ancestors; do today the things that we have described!	Wir beschwören euch beim Himmel und bei der Erde, bei unserem Gott, dem Herrn unserer Väter, der uns für unsere Sünden und die Vergehen unserer Väter bestraft, Gott möge nicht am heutigen Tag diese Drohung an uns wahr machen.	Chiamiamo a testimonio contro di voi il cielo e la terra e il nostro Dio, il Signore dei nostri padri, che ci punisce per la nostra iniquità e per le colpe dei nostri padri, perché non ci lasci più in una situazione come questa in cui siamo oggi».
7:29	Then great and general lamentation arose throughout the assembly, and they cried out to the Lord God with a loud voice.	Und in der Versammlung erhob sich ein allgemeines heftiges Klagen; alle schrien mit lauter Stimme zu Gott, dem Herrn.	Successe allora un pianto generale in mezzo all'adunanza e gridarono suppliche a gran voce al Signore loro Dio.
7:30	But Uzziah said to them, Courage, my brothers and sisters! Let us hold out for five days more; by that time the Lord our God will turn his mercy to us again, for he will not forsake us utterly.	Doch Usija sagte zu ihnen: Fasst Mut, Brüder! Wir wollen noch fünf Tage aushalten. In dieser Zeit wird der Herr, unser Gott, uns sein Erbarmen wieder zuwenden; er wird uns nicht für immer verlassen.	Ozia rispose loro: «Coraggio, fratelli, resistiamo ancora cinque giorni e in questo tempo il Signore Dio nostro rivolgerà di nuovo la misericordia su di noi; non è possibile che egli ci abbandoni fino all'ultimo.
7:31	But if these days pass by, and no help comes for us, I will do as you say.	Sollten aber diese Tage vergehen, ohne dass uns geholfen wird, dann will ich tun, was ihr gefordert habt.	Ma se proprio passeranno questi giorni e non ci arriverà alcun aiuto, farò secondo le vostre richieste».
7:32	Then he dismissed the people to their various posts, and they went up on the walls and towers of their town. The women and children he sent home. In the town they were in great misery.	Dann ließ er das Volk auseinander gehen, jeden auf seinen Posten, und sie begaben sich wieder auf die Mauern und Türme der Stadt. Die Frauen und Kinder aber schickte er in ihre Häuser zurück. In der Stadt herrschte tiefe Niedergeschlagenheit.	Così rimandò il popolo ciascuno al proprio posto ed essi tornarono sulle mura e sulle torri della città e rimandarono le donne e i figli alle loro case; ma tutti nella città erano in grande abbattimento.
