1:1	It was the twelfth year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, who ruled over the Assyrians in the great city of Nineveh. In those days Arphaxad ruled over the Medes in Ecbatana. 1:2	He built walls around Ecbatana with hewn stones three cubits thick and six cubits long; he made the walls seventy cubits high and fifty cubits wide. 1:3	At its gates he raised towers one hundred cubits high and sixty cubits wide at the foundations.	Die Türme der Mauern hatte er über den Stadttoren hundert Ellen hoch aufgeführt; ihre Grundfläche war sechzig Ellen breit. 1:4	He made its gates seventy cubits high and forty cubits wide to allow his armies to march out in force and his infantry to form their ranks. 1:5	Then King Nebuchadnezzar made war against King Arphaxad in the great plain that is on the borders of Ragau.	Zu jener Zeit führte König Nebukadnezzar Krieg gegen König Arphaxad in der großen Ebene, das heißt in der Ebene im Gebiet von Regu.	In quel periodo di tempo il re Nabucodònosor mosse guerra al re Arpacsàd nella grande pianura, cioè nella piana che si trova nel territorio di Ragau.	و ان نبوكد نصر ملك اشور الذي كان مالكا على نينوى المدينة العظيمة في السنة الثانية عشرة من ملكه حارب ارفشكاد فظفر به
1:6	There rallied to him all the people of the hill country and all those who lived along the Euphrates, the Tigris, and the Hydaspes, and, on the plain, Arioch, king of the Elymeans. Thus, many nations joined the forces of the Chaldeans.	Arphaxad schlossen sich alle Bewohner des Berglandes an sowie alle, die am Eufrat und Tigris, am Hydaspes und im Flachland des Elamiterkönigs Arjoch wohnten; es waren viele Völker, die zum Aufgebot der Söhne Chelëuds zusammenströmten. 1:7	Then Nebuchadnezzar, king of the Assyrians, sent messengers to all who lived in Persia and to all who lived in the west, those who lived in Cilicia and Damascus, Lebanon and Antilebanon, and all who lived along the seacoast,	Der Assyrerkönig Nebukadnezzar schickte Boten zu allen Bewohnern Persiens und zu allen, die ihre Wohnsitze im Westen hatten, nämlich zu den Bewohnern von Zilizien und von Damaskus, zu allen Bewohnern des Libanon, des Antilibanon und der Küstengebiete,	Allora Nabucodònosor re degli Assiri spedì messaggeri a tutti gli abitanti della Persia e a tutti gli abitanti delle regioni occidentali: a quelli della Cilicia e di Damasco, del Libano e dell'Antilibano e a tutti gli abitanti della fascia litoranea	فعظم اذ ذاك ملك نبوكد نصر وسمت نفسه فراسل جميع سكان قيليقية ودمشق ولبنان
1:8	and those among the nations of Carmel and Gilead, and Upper Galilee and the great plain of Esdraelon,	zu den Völkerschaften am Karmel und in Gilead, zu den Bewohnern des oberen Galiläa und der großen Ebene Jesreel,	e a quelli che appartenevano alle popolazioni del Carmelo e di Gàlaad, della Galilea superiore e della grande pianura di Esdrelon;	و الامم التي في الكرمل وقيدار وسكان الجليل في صحراء يزرعيل الواسعة
1:9	and all who were in Samaria and its towns, and beyond the Jordan as far as Jerusalem and Bethany and Chelous and Kadesh and the river of Egypt, and Tahpanhes and Raamses and the whole land of Goshen,	zu allen, die in Samaria und in seinen Städten und jenseits des Jordan wohnten bis nach Jerusalem, Batane, Chelus, Kadesch und zum Grenzbach Ägyptens, zu den Bewohnern von Tachpanhes und Ramesse und den Bewohnern des ganzen Landes Goschen,	a tutti gli abitanti della Samaria e delle sue città, a quelli che stavano oltre il Giordano fino a Gerusalemme, Batane, Chelus e Cades e al torrente d'Egitto, nonchè a Tafni, a Ramesse e a tutto il paese di Gessen,	و جميع من في السامرة وعبر الاردن الى اورشليم وفي جميع ارض يسى الى حدود الحبشة
1:10	even beyond Tanis and Memphis, and all who lived in Egypt as far as the borders of Ethiopia.	ja, über Zoan und Memfis hinaus zu allen Bewohnern Ägyptens bis zu den Grenzen Äthiopiens.	fino a comprendere la regione al di sopra di Tanis e Menfi, e ancora a tutti gli abitanti dell'Egitto sino ai confini dell'Etiopia.	الى جميع اولئك بعث نبوكد نصر ملك اشور رسلا
1:11	But all who lived in the whole region disregarded the summons of Nebuchadnezzar, king of the Assyrians, and refused to join him in the war; for they were not afraid of him, but regarded him as only one man. So they sent back his messengers empty-handed a	Doch alle Bewohner der ganzen Erde missachteten den Befehl des Assyrerkönigs Nebukadnezzar und leisteten ihm keine Heeresfolge, denn sie hatten keine Angst vor ihm; er war in ihren Augen nicht mehr als ein gewöhnlicher Mensch. Darum beschimpften sie seine Boten und ließen sie mit leeren Händen wieder abziehen.	Ma gli abitanti di tutte queste regioni disprezzarono l'invito di Nabucodònosor re degli Assiri e non lo seguirono nella guerra, perché non avevano alcun timore di lui, che agli occhi loro era come un uomo qualunque. Essi respinsero i suoi messaggeri a mani vuote e con disonore.	فابى جميعهم اتفاقا وردوا الرسل خائبين وطردوهم بلا كرامة
1:12	Then Nebuchadnezzar became very angry with this whole region, and swore by his throne and kingdom that he would take revenge on the whole territory of Cilicia and Damascus and Syria, that he would kill with his sword also all the inhabitants of the land o	Da entbrannte Nebukadnezzars Zorn über all diese Länder und er schwor bei seinem Thron und seinem Reich, an dem ganzen Gebiet von Zilizien, Damaskus und Syrien Rache zu nehmen und alle Bewohner Moabs, die Ammoniter, ganz Judäa und alle Bewohner Ägyptens bis zum Gebiet der beiden Meere mit seinem Schwert auszurotten.	Allora Nabucodònosor si accese di sdegno terribile contro tutte queste regioni e giurò per il suo trono e per il suo regno che avrebbe fatto sicura vendetta, devastando con la spada i paesi della Cilicia, di Damasco e della Siria, tutte le popolazioni della terra di Moab, gli Ammoniti, tutta la Giudea e tutti gli abitanti dell'Egitto fino al limite dei due mari.	فاستشاط حينئذ نبوكد نصر الملك غضبا على تلك الارض باسرها وحلف بعرشه وملكه لينتقمن من جميع تلك البلاد
1:13	In the seventeenth year he led his forces against King Arphaxad and defeated him in battle, overthrowing the whole army of Arphaxad and all his cavalry and all his chariots.	Im siebzehnten Jahr seiner Regierung griff er König Arphaxad mit seinem Heer an und konnte den Kampf für sich entscheiden; das gesamte Heer des Arphaxad, seine ganze Reiterei und all seine Wagen jagte er in die Flucht.	Quindi marciò con l'esercito contro il re Arpacsàd nel diciassettesimo anno, e prevalse su di lui in battaglia, travolgendo l'esercito di Arpacsàd con tutta la sua cavalleria e tutti i suoi carri.
1:14	Thus he took possession of his towns and came to Ecbatana, captured its towers, plundered its markets, and turned its glory into disgrace.	Er eroberte seine Städte und drang bis nach Ekbatana vor; er besetzte die Türme der Stadt, gab ihre Häuser der Plünderung preis und machte so ihre Pracht zuschanden.	S'impadronì delle sue città, giunse fino a Ecbàtana e ne espugnò le torri, ne saccheggiò le piazze e ne mutò lo splendore in ludibrio.
1:15	He captured Arphaxad in the mountains of Ragau and struck him down with his spears, thus destroying him once and for all.	Arphaxad nahm er im Bergland von Regu gefangen, durchbohrte ihn mit seinen Speeren und setzte seiner Macht für immer ein Ende.	Poi sorprese Arpacsàd sui monti di Ragau, lo trafisse con le sue lance e lo tolse di mezzo in quel giorno.
1:16	Then he returned to Nineveh, he and all his combined forces, a vast body of troops; and there he and his forces rested and feasted for one hundred twenty days. Im Hochgefühl seines Erfolges feierte er dort mit dem Heer ein Freudenfest, das hundertzwanzig Tage lang dauerte.
