| 5:1 | It was reported to Holofernes, the general of the Assyrian army, that the people of Israel had prepared for war and had closed the mountain passes and fortified all the high hilltops and set up barricades in the plains. | Holofernes, dem Oberbefehlshaber des assyrischen Heeres, wurde gemeldet, dass die Israeliten sich zum Krieg gerüstet, die Gebirgspässe gesperrt, alle hohen Bergkuppen befestigt und in der Ebene Hindernisse angelegt hatten. | Fu riferito intanto ad Oloferne, comandante supremo dell'esercito di Assur, che gli Israeliti si preparavano alla guerra e avevano bloccato i passi montani, avevano fortificato tutte le sommità dei monti e avevano disposto ostacoli nelle pianure. | و اخبر اليفانا رئيس جيش الاشوريين ان بني اسرائيل قد تاهبوا للمدافعة وانهم قد سدوا طرق الجبال | |||||||||||
| 5:2 | In great anger he called together all the princes of Moab and the commanders of Ammon and all the governors of the coastland, | Da entbrannte sein Zorn. Er berief alle Fürsten von Moab, die Heerführer von Ammon und alle Statthalter der Küstengebiete zu sich | Egli montò in gran furore e convocò tutti i capi di Moab e gli strateghi di Ammon e tutti i satrapi delle regioni marittime, | فاستشاط اليفانا غضبا في شدة حنقه ودعا جميع رؤساء مواب وقواد عمون | |||||||||||
| 5:3 | and said to them, Tell me, you Canaanites, what people is this that lives in the hill country? What towns do they inhabit? How large is their army, and in what does their power and strength consist? Who rules over them as king and leads their army? | und sagte zu ihnen: Sagt mir, ihr Söhne Kanaans, was ist das für ein Volk, das da im Bergland haust? Wie heißen die Städte, die es bewohnt? Wie groß ist die Streitmacht dieser Leute und worin liegt ihre Kraft und Stärke? Wer gebietet über sie als König und Anführer ihres Heeres? | e disse loro: «Spiegatemi un pò, voi figli di Canaan, che popolo è questo che dimora sui monti e come sono le città che egli abita, quanti sono gli effettivi del suo esercito, dove risiede la loro forza e il loro vigore, chi si è messo alla loro testa come re e condottiero del loro esercito | و قال لهم قولوا لي من اولئك الشعب الذين ضبطوا الجبال وما مدنهم وكيف هي وما قوتها وما قدرتهم وكثرتهم ومن قائد جيشهم | |||||||||||
| 5:4 | And why have they alone, of all who live in the west, refused to come out and meet me? | Und warum haben sie allein von allen Bewohnern des Westens es abgelehnt, mir zu huldigen? | e perché hanno rifiutato di venire incontro a me a differenza di tutte le popolazioni dell'occidente». | و كيف استخفوا بنا دون جميع سكان المشرق ولم يخرجوا لاستقبالنا ليتلقونا بالسلم | |||||||||||
| 5:5 | Then Achior, the leader of all the Ammonites, said to him, May my lord please listen to a report from the mouth of your servant, and I will tell you the truth about this people that lives in the mountain district near you. No falsehood shall come from yo | Da antwortete ihm Achior, der Anführer aller Ammoniter: Möge mein Herr anhören, was sein Knecht ihm zu sagen hat. Ich will dir die Wahrheit sagen über dieses Volk, das in dem Bergland hier in deiner Nähe wohnt; kein falsches Wort soll aus dem Mund deines Knechtes kommen. | Gli rispose Achior, condottiero di tutti gli Ammoniti: «Ascolti bene il mio signore la risposta dalle labbra del suo servo: io riferirò la verità sul conto di questo popolo, che sta su queste montagne vicino al luogo ove risiedi, né uscirà menzogna dalla bocca del suo servo. | فاجابه احيور قائد جميع بني عمون قائلا ان تنازلت فسمعت لي يا سيدي اقول الحق بين يديك في امر اولئك الشعب المقيمين بالجبال ولا تخرج لفظة كاذبة من فمي | |||||||||||
| 5:6 | These people are descended from the Chaldeans. | Diese Leute stammen von den Chaldäern ab. | Questo popolo si compone di discendenti dei Caldei. | ان اولئك الشعب هم من نسل الكلدانيين | |||||||||||
| 5:7 | At one time they lived in Mesopotamia, because they did not wish to follow the gods of their ancestors who were in Chaldea. | Sie hatten sich zuerst in Mesopotamien niedergelassen, weil sie den Göttern ihrer Väter im Land der Chaldäer nicht mehr dienen wollten. | Essi si trasferirono dapprima nella Mesopotamia, perché non vollero seguire gli dei dei loro padri che si trovavano nel paese dei Caldei. | و كان اول مقامهم فيما بين النهرين لانهم ابوا اتباع الهة ابائهم المقيمين بارض الكلدانيين | |||||||||||
| 5:8 | Since they had abandoned the ways of their ancestors, and worshiped the God of heaven, the God they had come to know, their ancestors drove them out from the presence of their gods. So they fled to Mesopotamia, and lived there for a long time. | Sie waren nämlich von dem Glauben ihrer Vorfahren abgewichen und hatten ihre Verehrung dem Gott des Himmels zugewandt, zu dessen Erkenntnis sie gelangt waren. Deshalb hatten die Chaldäer sie aus dem Bereich ihrer Götter vertrieben und sie waren nach Mesopotamien geflohen, wo sie sich einige Zeit aufhielten. | Essi avevano abbandonato la tradizione dei loro padri e avevano adorato il Dio del cielo, quel Dio che essi avevano conosciuto; perciò li avevano scacciati dalla presenza dei loro dei ed essi si erano rifugiati in Mesopotamia e furono là per molto tempo. | فتركوا سنن ابائهم التي كانت لالهة كثيرة | |||||||||||
| 5:9 | Then their God commanded them to leave the place where they were living and go to the land of Canaan. There they settled, and grew very prosperous in gold and silver and very much livestock. | Doch ihr Gott gebot ihnen, ihren Wohnsitz zu verlassen und in das Land Kanaan weiterzuziehen. Hier ließen sie sich nieder und wurden reich an Gold, Silber und an riesigen Herden. | Ma il loro Dio comandò loro di uscire dal paese che li ospitava e venire nel paese di Canaan. Qui infatti si stabilirono e si arricchirono di oro e di argento e di bestiame in gran numero. | و سجدوا لاله السماء الواحد وهو امرهم ان يخرجوا من هناك ويسكنوا في حاران فلما عم الجوع الارض كلها هبطوا الى مصر وتكاثروا هناك مدة اربع مئة سنة حتى كان جيشهم لا يحصى | |||||||||||
| 5:10 | When a famine spread over the land of Canaan they went down to Egypt and lived there as long as they had food. There they became so great a multitude that their race could not be counted. | Weil aber eine Hungersnot über das Land Kanaan hereinbrach, zogen sie nach Ägypten und blieben dort, solange sie Nahrung fanden. Dort wuchsen sie zu einer gewaltigen Menge heran und ihr Volk war nicht mehr zu zählen. | Poi scesero in Egitto, perché la fame aveva invaso tutto il paese di Canaan, e vi rimasero come stranieri finché trovarono da vivere. Là divennero anche una moltitudine imponente, tanto che non si poteva contare la loro discendenza. | و اذ كان ملك مصر يعنتهم بالاثقال ويستعبدهم في بناء مدنه بالطين واللبن صرخوا الى ربهم فضرب جميع ارض مصر ضربات مختلفة | |||||||||||
| 5:11 | So the king of Egypt became hostile to them; he exploited them and forced them to make bricks. | Da schritt der König von Ägypten gegen sie ein. Arglistig befahl er ihnen, in mühseliger Arbeit Ziegel herzustellen. Man unterdrückte sie und machte sie zu Sklaven. | Ma si alzò contro di loro il re dell'Egitto che li sfruttò nella preparazione dei mattoni e perciò furono umiliati e trattati come schiavi. | و بعد ان طردهم المصريون من ارضهم وكفت الضربة عنهم ارادوا امساكهم ليردوهم الى عبوديتهم | |||||||||||
| 5:12 | They cried out to their God, and he afflicted the whole land of Egypt with incurable plagues. So the Egyptians drove them out of their sight. | Sie aber schrien zu ihrem Gott und dieser schlug das ganze Land Ägypten mit Plagen, gegen die es keine Abhilfe gab. Darauf jagten die Ägypter sie aus ihrem Land fort. | Essi alzarono suppliche al loro Dio e questi percosse tutto il paese d'Egitto con castighi ai quali non c'era rimedio. Perciò gli Egiziani li mandarono via dal loro paese. | و فيما هم هاربون فلق لهم اله السماء البحر وجمدت المياه من الجانبين فعبروا على حضيض البحر على اليبس | |||||||||||
| 5:13 | Then God dried up the Red Sea before them, | Gott aber trocknete das Rote Meer vor ihnen aus. | Dio asciugò il Mare Rosso davanti a loro | و تعقبهم هناك جيش المصريين بلا عدد فغمرتهم المياه حتى لم يبق منهم احد يخبر اعقابهم | |||||||||||
| 5:14 | and he led them by the way of Sinai and Kadesh-barnea. They drove out all the people of the desert, | Er führte sie den Weg zum Sinai und nach Kadesch-Barnea und sie vertrieben alle Bewohner der Wüste. | e li guidò per la via del Sinai e di Cadesbarne; essi eliminarono quanti risiedevano nel deserto. | فخرجوا من البحر الاحمر ونزلوا برية جبل سيناء حيث لم يكن يقدر ان يسكن انسان ولا يستريح ابن بشر | |||||||||||
| 5:15 | and took up residence in the land of the Amorites, and by their might destroyed all the inhabitants of Heshbon; and crossing over the Jordan they took possession of all the hill country. | Dann ließen sie sich im Land der Amoriter nieder und vernichteten mit ihrem Heer alle Einwohner von Heschbon. Danach überschritten sie den Jordan, nahmen das ganze Bergland in Besitz, | Poi dimorarono nel paese degli Amorrei e sterminarono con la loro forza gli abitanti di Esebon; quindi passarono il Giordano e si insediarono in tutte quelle montagne. | و هناك حولت لهم ينابيع المياه المرة عذبة ليشربوا ورزقوا طعاما من السماء مدة اربعين سنة | |||||||||||
| 5:16 | They drove out before them the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Shechemites, and all the Gergesites, and lived there a long time. | verjagten die Kanaaniter, die Perisiter, Jebusiter, Sichemiter und alle Girgaschiter und ließen sich dort für lange Zeit nieder. | Scacciarono davanti a loro il Cananeo, il Perizzita, il Gebuseo, Sichem e tutti i Gergesei e abitarono nel loro territorio per molti anni. | و حيثما دخلوا بلا قوس ولا سهم ولا ترس ولا سيف قاتل الههم عنهم وظفر | |||||||||||
| 5:17 | As long as they did not sin against their God they prospered, for the God who hates iniquity is with them. | Solange sie sich nicht gegen ihren Gott versündigten, blieb das Glück ihnen treu; denn ihnen steht ein Gott bei, der das Unrecht hasst. | In realtà fin quando non peccavano contro il loro Dio erano nella prosperità, perché il Dio che è con loro odia il male. | و لم يكن من يستهين بهؤلاء الشعب الا اذا تركوا عبادة الرب الههم | |||||||||||
| 5:18 | But when they departed from the way he had prescribed for them, they were utterly defeated in many battles and were led away captive to a foreign land. The temple of their God was razed to the ground, and their towns were occupied by their enemies. | Als sie aber von dem Weg abwichen, den er ihnen gewiesen hatte, wurden sie in vielen Kriegen mehr und mehr aufgerieben und schließlich als Gefangene in ein fremdes Land verschleppt. Der Tempel ihres Gottes wurde dem Erdboden gleichgemacht und ihre Städte fielen ihren Feinden in die Hand. | Quando invece si allontanarono dagli ordinamenti che egli aveva loro imposti, furono terribilmente sconfitti in molte guerre e condotti prigionieri in paese straniero, il tempio del loro Dio fu raso al suolo e le loro città caddero in potere dei loro nemici. | فكانوا كلما عبدوا غير الههم اسلموا للغنيمة والسيف والعار | |||||||||||
| 5:19 | But now they have returned to their God, and have come back from the places where they were scattered, and have occupied Jerusalem, where their sanctuary is, and have settled in the hill country, because it was uninhabited. | Jetzt aber haben sie sich wieder ihrem Gott zugewandt und sind aus den Ländern heimgekehrt, in die sie verstreut worden waren. Sie haben Jerusalem, wo ihr Heiligtum steht, wieder in Besitz genommen und das verlassene Bergland von neuem besiedelt. | Ora appunto, riconciliati con il loro Dio, hanno fatto ritorno dai luoghi dove erano stati dispersi, hanno ripreso possesso di Gerusalemme, dove è il loro santuario, e si sono stabiliti sulle montagne, che prima erano deserte. | و كلما تابوا عن تركهم عبادة الههم اتاهم اله السماء قوة للمدافعة | |||||||||||
| 5:20 | So now, my master and lord, if there is any oversight in this people and they sin against their God and we find out their offense, then we can go up and defeat them. | Wenn nun, mein Herr und Gebieter, auf diesem Volk eine Schuld lastet und sie sich gegen ihren Gott versündigt haben und wenn wir uns vergewissert haben, dass dieser Anlass zum Unheil bei ihnen vorliegt, dann können wir hinaufziehen und sie vernichtend schlagen. | Ora, mio sovrano e signore, se vi è qualche aberrazione in questo popolo perché ha peccato contro il suo Dio, se cioè ci accorgiamo che c'è in mezzo a loro questo inciampo, avanziamo e diamo loro battaglia. | فكسروا امامهم ملوك الكنعانيين واليبوسيين والفرزيين والحثيين والحويين والاموريين وجميع الجبابرة الذين في حشبون واستحوذوا على اراضيهم ومدائنهم | |||||||||||
| 5:21 | But if they are not a guilty nation, then let my lord pass them by; for their Lord and God will defend them, and we shall become the laughingstock of the whole world. | Wenn aber ihr Volk sich nichts zu Schulden kommen ließ, dann möge mein Herr nur ja davon Abstand nehmen. Sonst würde ihnen nämlich ihr Herr und Gott Hilfe leisten und wir müssten uns dann vor aller Welt schämen. | Se invece non c'è alcuna trasgressione nella loro gente, il mio signore passi oltre, perché il Signore, che è il loro Dio, non si faccia loro scudo e noi diven | و كانوا ما داموا لا يخطاون امام الههم يصيبهم خير لان الههم يبغض الاثم | |||||||||||
| 5:22 | When Achior had finished saying these things, all the people standing around the tent began to complain; Holofernes' officers and all the inhabitants of the seacoast and Moab insisted that he should be cut to pieces. | Diese Rede des Achior rief bei allen Soldaten, die im Umkreis des Zeltes standen, Empörung hervor. Die Offiziere des Holofernes sowie alle Bewohner der Küstengebiete und von Moab forderten, man solle ihn niederhauen. | فلما ان حادوا قبل هذه السنين عن الطريق التي امرهم الله ان يسلكوها انكسروا في الحروب امام شعوب كثيرة وجلي كثيرون منهم الى ارض غير ارضهم | ||||||||||||
| 5:23 | They said, We are not afraid of the Israelites; they are a people with no strength or power for making war. | Sie sagten: Wir haben doch keine Angst vor den Israeliten. Sie sind doch ein Volk, das weder die Macht noch die Kraft hat für einen harten Feldzug. | غير انهم من عهد قريب قد تابوا الى الرب الههم واجتمعوا من شتاتهم حيث تبددوا وصعدوا الى هذه الجبال كلها وعادوا فتملكوا في اورشليم حيث اقداسهم | ||||||||||||
| 5:24 | Therefore let us go ahead, Lord Holofernes, and your vast army will swallow them up. | Darum, Gebieter Holofernes, wollen wir hinaufziehen; sie sollen deinem ganzen Heer zum Fraß dienen. | و الان يا سيدي انظر فان كان لاولئك الشعب اثم امام الههم فلنصعد اليهم لان الههم يسلمهم اليك ويستعبدون تحت نير سلطانك |
